TomTom Announces XL 335S Details

TomTom have introduced us to the new TomTom XL 335S. The new GPS device is basically the same as the TomTom XL 340S but at a slightly cheaper price. The new XL 335S will sell at $239, whereas the XL 340S is priced at $249.

It’s official, the TomTom car kit for the iPhone is now available in most of Europe.

TomTom announced that starting from today* the car kit can be purchased from either their online store or Apple’s online store.

Google Tells Tele Atlas To Hit The Road

New Entry-Level TomTom Device: The Start

TomTom has introduced us to their new entry-level GPS device today, The TomTom Start. The Start will be available in Europe and is priced at just €129.99 to €149.99.

The new device features a 3.5-inch color touch screen and a fixed EasyPort mounting system, as opposed to the removable EasyPort mount found on the TomTom One/XL series. The Start is designed to be a low cost device that will do everything you need it to do, and fit in your pocket.

CNET reported yesterday that TomTom had finally released the price to the TomTom iPhone Car Kit. It reported that you can expect to spend around $120 for car kit and the TomTom navigation app was not included.

That’s great for people who want to know the price in the US, but what about the EU? On further investigation it turns out that TomTom has released the price for Europe too. TidBits reports:

CNET reports that TomTom has finally released the price for the “TomTom iPhone Car Kit.” According to CNET you can expect to spend about $120 for the car kit. This is for the car kit alone and doesn’t include the TomTom turn-by-turn application, which would cost an additional $99. The car kit is apparently due for release next month.

TomTom unveiled their latest GPS device today, the XL340S LIVE. Following the success of TomTom’s LIVE service on their high-end TomTom GO range, TomTom will now include the service on the less expensive TomTom XL340S LIVE.

TomTom Car Kit For The iPhone

TomnTom have issued a statement about the price of the “coming soon” car kit for the iPhone.

The TomTom iPhone app is currently being sold for £60 in the UK but is still missing its buddy and friend, the purpose built “TomTom Car Kit for iPhone.”

This morning it looked as if we would finally be able to get our hands on one of the new car kits when the UK Apple store posted details about the product.

TomTom And Sanyo Team Up

It was announced today that Sanyo and TomTom will join forces to bring built-in audio and video navigation to the automotive manufactures.

Sanyo, a global provider of consumer electronics, declined to disclose financial terms of the deal, nor give any sales targets.
